On April 22, Small Business Majority, Main Street Alliance, Multicultural Business Alliance, and the National Employment Law Project sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in support of the final rule which would ban employers from imposing non-compete agreements on their employees. Small Business Majority research has found that nearly half of small businesses (46%) were subject to a non-compete agreement that prevented them from starting or expanding their business and more than a third (35%) have been prevented from hiring an employee due to a non-compete agreement.
