Statement from John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO of Small Business Majority, on the announcement that Rep. Dave Camp, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, will retire at the end of this term

Small businesses have appreciated the work of Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI), who announced this week that he will retire from the U.S. House of Representatives at the end of this term.

During his time as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Camp insisted on having a small business voice at the table while working on comprehensive tax reform. While we didn̢??‰?t agree with Rep. Camp on every issue, we appreciated his commitment to transparent processes, as well as his willingness to work with lawmakers across the aisle and consider a wide array of solutions.

We wish Rep. Camp the best in his future endeavors and look forward to working with his replacement on common sense tax reform that will benefit small businesses and the economy.
