Small businesses agree Illinois residents are largely unprepared for retirement; support legislation that would make it easier for entrepreneurs and workers to save for the future

Chicago, ILA scientific opinion poll released today shows the majority of Illinois entrepreneurs believe most residents are unprepared for retirement, and believe the state should do more to help workers prepare for their golden years. One solution they strongly support is proposed legislation that would make it easier for small businesses to establish basic retirement plans for their employees.

These online portals give small business owners, the self-employed and small business employees new options for buying quality, more affordable health insurance.

Assessment of EPA's Clean Power Plan on small businesses shows it can help create market opportunities, mitigate the risk of climate change and extreme weather wrecking havoc on small businesses; provides recommendations on how policymakers can best implement policies to support local economies

Washington, DC: Today Small Business Majority released an assessment of the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed Clean Power Plan on small businesses, which found the proposal is an essential step toward addressing the threat of climate change while bolstering small businesses and unleashing new economic opportunities. The paper includes small business friendly recommendations policymakers can follow as they begin implementing the Clean Power Plan standards limiting the emissions of carbon from existing power plants for the first time.
