Small Business Majority Joins Business Groups, Advocates, Officials in Celebrating National Small Business Week

May 20-26 marks National Small Business Week, and over the next several days, Small Business Majority is joining a host of small business advocates and government agencies for events, conference calls and online seminars to honor our leading job creators—small business owners.

Small business owners with fewer than 50 employees continue to generate the lion’s share of jobs, according to the latest economic data from Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP). During the month of April, these businesses created 15 jobs for every one job created by their larger counterparts. What’s more, small businesses overall created nearly 97 percent of new jobs last month.

“Small employers are toiling day in and day out to put Americans back to work, and it’s essential we recognize their invaluable contributions to local, state and national economies,” said John Arensmeyer, founder and CEO of Small Business Majority. “As we celebrate National Small Business Week, we ask lawmakers to remember these business owners are central to the financial health of our nation, and we ask them to consider their needs and pursue economic policies that can better equip them for success.”
