Statement from John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO of Small Business Majority, in response to last weekend’s events in Charlottesville, V.A.

As advocates for the small business community, we condemn the violence, hatred and racial divisiveness displayed last weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia. The small business community is vast, diverse and represents all walks of life, and small business’ equally diverse workforce is what keeps our businesses humming and contributes to our global competitiveness. Entrepreneurs stand against bigotry because it is the right thing to do and also because it’s the right move for our business community and the economy. As such, we demand that our nation’s leaders, especially the president, speak forcefully against this type of hatred and understand that bigotry has no place on Main Street.
