Event open to all small businesses; chance for entrepreneurs to learn how to foster success at every stage of their business

Los Angeles – Small Business Majority will join Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's office and the U.S. Small Business Administration at the 2016 Startup Business Expo Tour on Thursday, August 4 to educate small business owners on issues like access to capital, retirement planning and more. Xiomara Peña, Southern California Outreach Manager for Small Business Majority, will be presenting on these issues in Spanish at the event.

“Entrepreneurs often feel like they have nowhere to turn when it comes to issues like access to capital and retirement,” said Peña. “This event is a great opportunity for small business owners to learn more about how they can get a leg up and ask questions from an unbiased representative.”

The free event, which is open to all small business owners, will focus on ways entrepreneurs can increase financial stability, including how small businesses can acquire loans, access lines of credit and boost their business credit profile to prepare for the future. Additionally, it will cover different ways for small businesses to plan for retirement for themselves and their employees.

A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

“Our scientific opinion polling reveals 90 percent of small business owners believe the availability of credit is a problem,” said Peña. “Plus, just 12 percent of people in Los Angeles working for a small company have the option of a retirement plan. That puts small business owners at a disadvantage, so it’s important for entrepreneurs to learn how to address these issues.”

The event will take place on August 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT. Complimentary food will be served.

Small business owners can register for the event online at http://startuptourla.com/.
