Research shows that the Clean Air Act is good for small businesses and the economy. In these difficult times, it’s imperative we don’t interfere with anything that bolsters either. But some Congress members are trying to tear the Clean Air Act down, so today we sent letters to the Senate urging members to let the EPA do its job and enforce the Clean Air Act.
The letters, signed by a host of small business owners who know firsthand the benefits of this landmark law, are part of our ongoing outreach as senators vote today on measures that affect the EPA and its ability to enforce the Act.
Some lawmakers are seeking to use the EPA as a political weapon in their ideological crusade against the Clean Air Act. Our research has shown that reducing pollution is good for small businesses and the Clean Air Act has led to years of innovation, job creation and economic growth. The invention of new technologies like the catalytic converter have increased our exports on this and other products, and that means more revenue for small business owners who need it the most.
Small Business Majority will continue making small business voices heard, especially when lawmakers try to put politics ahead of what’s best for the small business community. America’s small businesses and the millions they employ deserve no less.
