Small business days of action: fiscal cliff and tax cuts for the middle class

With the holiday shopping season in high gear, small businesses are becoming increasingly concerned about how going over the fiscal cliff could affect their businesses and the buying power of the middle class—a category virtually all their customers fall into and which 97 percent of them are part of, also.

In order to address this dilemma and ensure Congress knows how important it is to find a solution that works for small business, Small Business Majority is holding a host of tele-press conference calls between Dec. 18-20, where Founder & CEO John Arensmeyer and our state outreach managers from across the country will be joined by senators and representatives and small business owners to bring attention to this issue. On each call, participants will discuss small business concern over the so-called fiscal cliff, its impact on consumer spending, and how employers feel about tax cuts set to expire at the end of the year—for both the middle class and high-income earners.

Below, check out interviews with some of Small Business Majority’s Network Council members as they discuss why it’s important we don’t hold tax cuts for the middle class hostage to those for the wealthiest Americans, and find out more about our upcoming events.
